The SHIELD Act criminalizes the distribution of nude images of minors that are explicit but do not meet the legal definition of CSAM, while also criminalizing the distribution of intimate images of adults with the intent to cause harm. PROTECT is a reauthorization bill that will support the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program with an escalator authorization.
Last week, Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and U.S. Reps. Jeff Van Drew (NJ-2) and Madeleine Dean (PA-4) reintroduced the SHIELD Act.

Meanwhile, Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and U.S. Reps. Jeff Van Drew (NJ-2), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25), Jared Moskowitz (FL-23), and Nathaniel Moran (TX-1) reintroduced the Protect our Children Act. These bipartisan pieces of legislation will provide critical support and reform to end the online exploitation of children.
